Welcome to Earth & Marine Sciences Education Program

The Education Program in Earth and Marine Sciences is a component of the Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES) forming a centre of excellence for teaching and research in areas of environmental, earth and marine science. The Institute of Scientific Information (ISI) has ranked ANU Geoscience the top university program in Australia, and amongst the top 10 universities worldwide.

The Program offers both undergraduate and postgraduate studies for a diverse range of interests, preparing students for careers in science, law and the humanities. Our focus is on both environmental science and earth processes, and we are the only full teaching program for Earth Sciences in Canberra.

The Program has access to advanced equipment for experimental work and opportunities no other university in Australia can offer. Our location puts us in a unique position for collaboration with government departments such as Geoscience Australia and the Bureau of Rural Sciences.

RSES is an active member of the Cooperative Research Centre for Landscape Environments and Mineral Exploration which sees some of our staff involved in teaching and research in hydrology, regolith geochemistry and biogeochemistry. ANU geosciences plays a strong role in National Initiatives both on the continent and in marine geosciences. RSES hosts components of the AuScope initiative for understanding the Structure and Evolution of the Australian Continent, and also the Australian Office for the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program with support from the Australian Research Council.

We hope you find our website informative and exciting. If you require any further information please contact us.
